n an inspiring show of unity and commitment to social justice, more than 1,300 students from Kyrene de las Brisas Elementary School and Kyrene Aprende Middle School participated in the Ruby Bridges Walk to School Day on Tuesday, Nov. 14. This event, marking its second consecutive year at Brisas, has rapidly gained momentum as a significant annual observance in schools across the United States, aimed at combating racism and bullying.
The Ruby Bridges Foundation, established to honor her legacy, has been instrumental in organizing this event. It encourages students to actively engage in conversations to eradicate racism and promote unity within their communities. The participation of students from Brisas and Aprende highlights the widespread impact of Ruby’s story and the ongoing relevance of her message in today’s world.
