TERRAVITA HAS COMPLETED THEIR CLUBHOUSE UPDATE By Scott Gaertner Lifestyle Contributor

T

erravita continued to prove its commitment to stay at the forefront of best membership experience by completing a $5.2 million-dollar renovation of their main clubhouse. This improvement is the culmination of years of planning based on their member’s input. In 2012, the community completed a fantastic updating and expansion of the already great fitness facility. They followed that with a complete overhaul and expansion of the community center in 2016. They have now updated their main clubhouse, which serves as the focal point for the 50 or 60 different social organizations that are the heart and the hub of the community.

The new design was aimed to maximize the views from inside the clubhouse to the outdoor desert and mountain vistas. It also capitalized on Scottsdale North’s fantastic outdoor living by incorporating sliding door systems and additional terrace seating. The disappearing sliding doors remind me of the first time I saw that feature at Isabella’s Kitchen in Grayhawk. Very exciting stuff! I was on staff with the developer and a member of the club when the first clubhouse was built, and it was a fantastic facility then! These changes should add immensely to Terravita’s already incredible lifestyle value, ensuring that Terravita remains at the top of the list of best opportunities for an amazing lifestyle in Scottsdale North.

PICKLEBALL IS COMING TO THE WINFIELD COMMUNITY By Scott Gaertner Lifestyle Contributor

T

he Winfield community has made some amazing updates to their amenities this year that they plan to unveil this month. Winfield’s Executive Director, Lori Nelson, explained that they are finishing a small expansion and complete remodel of their fitness facility, including $100,000 worth of new fitness equipment and a new area dedicated to free weights. The Winfield community clubhouse is over 13,000 square feet and has an indoor spa, locker rooms, meeting rooms and a cafe. Outside is a heated pool and six miles of hiking trails that even traverse up the community’s most amazing amenity - a 75-acre boulder strewn mountain preserve. Also included in the Winfield update are two new pickleball courts! These are not courts that have been retrofitted scottsdalenorthnews.com

from existing amenities. These courts are brand new additions to the club, which already hosts eight lighted tennis courts including two sub irrigated Har-Tru clay courts. In an area woefully short of pickleball courts, this is a great addition. While Winfield does allow outside memberships for tennis, the pickleball facilities will be for residents only.

I was on staff with Pulte homes at the time Winfield was built and felt our adding the clay courts was an important differentiator for the community. The new clubhouse updates and the addition of the pickleball courts will definitely put Winfield in the mix as one of the best values in the Scottsdale North lifestyle community. 4. EVALUATE YOUR FINANCES. It’s common to revise your spending and activities after experiencing the first few weeks away from your primary job, so it’s okay if you need to adjust how much you withdraw from your accounts each month. If you want to increase your spending, calculate what that means for your later retirement years. Consult a financial advisor for guidance on how to make your money last while living the lifestyle you desire. 5. RESET YOUR ATTITUDE. Retirement is not the ultimate finish line, even if it may feel like one at times. Experiencing a lot of emotions is common but try to focus on what you’re excited about in this next chapter. Talk to friends, family and professionals in your life for support along the way. Renee A.
