EDUCATION AND INNOVATION The Sunshine Coast Institute of TAFE has five campuses located at Nambour, Gympie, Maroochydore, Mooloolaba, Cooroy and Caloundra. The student population, which is currently in excess of 7,000, is forecast to grow to 15,000 by 2021. The University pursues an active research agenda with areas of research strength in
genetics and ecology, the health professions, and regional sustainability. USC welcomes the opportunity to work with companies both to provide highly skilled graduate and postgraduate staff, and to embark on industry relevant research and consultancy projects. As a key business engagement strategy, USC operates the award winning Innovation Centre Sunshine Coast (ICSC). ICSC provides a package of business services designed to give both entrepreneurs and growth phase business clients an edge in today’s competitive global economy including: serviced office space, high speed fibre connections, business coaching and training, support in accessing grants and venture capital, business development support and mentoring.
CQ University, an innovative education Facility, has a central campus in Noosa and a series of accredited ‘Teaching Sites’ across the Sunshine Coast offering both undergraduate and postgraduate higher education programs. CQ University is an operational partnership between, Sunshine Coast Council, Education Queensland and a number of creative enterprises on the Sunshine Coast. SUNED is a member based organisation led by a committee of industry representatives and consists of member institutions from the School, ELICOS,Vocational Educational and Training and Higher Education industry sectors in the region. Liaising closely with government on local, state and federal levels, the organisation’s mission is to support, promote and grow with the region’s industry in a global environment.
