EDQ held a stall at the Brisbane City Council Official NAIDOC Week Opening Event, working with attendees to fold origami and create themed badges.

QUARRIES Award – Community Table

Fostering Innovation Project – Mental Health Services - 26 July 2019 The QUARRIES (Quality Awards Recognising Remarkable Initiative and Excellence in Service) are held by Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital each year to recognise innovation and excellence. Our fantastic ‘Community Table’ meal support program was nominated for, and won, a QUARRIES Award in the Category of Fostering Innovation Project – Mental Health Services.

EDQ presented three talks at the annual Australia New Zealand Academy for Eating Disorders Conference. Members of the team headed to Adelaide for the three-day conference and attended a wide range of presentations, keeping their knowledge of current best-practice up to date.

Urban Smart Projects – Best Organisation Prize Best Organisation Prize - 5 September 2019

EDQ’s own Lisa Kelly painted two Toowong traffic signal boxes and Energex pad-mount transformers in conjunction with EDQ staff and clients through 2018/2019, as part of the Brisbane City Council Urban Smart Artforce project. In 2019, Lisa was nominated for her artworks in three categories, going on to win Best Organisation for her piece “No Wrong Way to Have a Body”. This traffic box can be found on the corner of Sherwood Road and Jephson Street, Toowong. Her other piece, ‘Hope, Resilience, Recovery’ can be found at Sherwood Road and Holland Street, Toowong.

EDAA Formation September 2019

EDQ is a founding member of Eating Disorder Alliance of Australia (EDAA) is a new collaboration, formed to represent the voice of lived experience consumers, carers and health care professionals. All members have agreed to provide a united voice to the Federal Government on priorities for mental health system reform and to share the intent of state and federal government-funded service agreements to prevent duplication of services, inform activities with local state-based treatment services, drive service excellence and deliver effectively on existing investments.

Mental Health Week 5 - 13 October 2019

Pride Movie Night 16 October 2019

EDQ Staff organised a movie and popcorn night as a Pride Celebration. Clients who attended were able to relax on our new cushions and watch ‘Love, Simon’ as a group.
