Looking ahead | 25 April 2021 Zürich Marathon, Switzerland More than 10,000 runners participate in the Zurich Marathon every year. In 2018 over 11,300 runners finished all the events hosted under the marathon umbrella.

Our aim is to offer a running experience for every level of running ability. This means there are races at several different distances other than the Marathon itself, like the 10km City Run or the team run. For the team run the marathon is split into four stages as a 4-person relay to offer runners the chance of experiencing the event alongside their colleagues, friends or family. There are approximately 3500 marathon runners, 3500 City 10km runners and 4000 team runners who end up storming through the streets of Switzerland’s biggest city. For the 2021 Zurich Marathon we are looking forward to making a few innovations. It will be the first time that the Zurich Marathon will incorporate the Swiss Marathon Championships. The location of the new valuables deposit concept will be in the Mythenquai car park. Moreover, the start will be organised in blocks to provide a smoother start for every runner. The Finish Area tent will be a special highlight where the winners’ ceremony will take place and the integrated food festival will be held with various culinary offers after the finish line.
