A Tribute to Mother Mother has longed to be in God’s presence, Her heart desire to feel His touch; To be numbered among heaven’s residents, Embracing family and friends loved so much. She told us she longed for heaven, We asked her not to go, But her hands lifted upward She saw sights we’ll never know. She whispered in the night To someone we could not see. We asked her “mother, do you see things soon to be?” She slowly shook her head but would not say; We knew in our heart, It was about a brighter day. She got a little inpatient because she wanted to go She even asked the question, “why is this going so slow?” God always has a plan, His ways we do not know; At last came the time and God beckoned, “Audrey, it’s time to go!” I can’t imagine the excitement she must have felt At home at last in the presence of the King she knelt. She found great blessing in serving others, Unfailing love; to many a loving mother. She reached out to troubled teens Who found life so unfair, But they found God’s grace is sufficient, Through Mama Audrey’s loving care. All the promises she found in God’s Word Have come to pass She has passed through death’s door Reaching paradise at last! She has passed through the portal How her heart sings Elated, joyous, shouting and dancing Present, in the presence of the King! By Ron Ramey 22 Kid-and-Kaboodle.com
