The 1863 home that the museum is housed in displays period clothing and items one would have found in a home during Caldwell’s early days. The house was donated by the Polasek Family in 1993 to the Burleson County Czech Heritage Museum.
The Burleson County Czech Heritage Museum was started in 1992 by a handful of charter members and continues to operate today with the purpose of promoting and preserving the unique heritage and culture of both the Czech in Europe and the Czech settlers in this area of Texas. “We started the museum in Caldwell as a way to display relics from our past ancestors,” said Daniel Junek, current treasurer and past president of the museum board. “The items on display came from just about everywhere. People would read about the museum and donate items. That is how it grew to
