PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT
National Public Works Week will take place on Sunday, May 16, through Saturday, May 22, 2021. The Public Works Department looks forward to this event every year as it gives employees the opportunity to educate the public about the important role the Public Works Department plays in the community. It also serves to highlight and celebrate these devoted individuals as they continue to work within our community to plan, build, operate and maintain our City's vital infrastructure. Instituted as a public education campaign by the American Public Works Association in 1960, National Public Works Week calls attention to the importance of public works departments throughout the entire country. It is a week dedicated to the men and women who go above and beyond to serve their community with unwavering dedication and commitment to making a difference. Oftentimes the work of these dedicated employees goes unnoticed. However, they are the unsung heroes of our community as they continue to work hard building and maintaining our beautiful City.
