very January, we all step forward into the New Year with new ideas, goals and resolutions. But after the initial sparkle of the New Year has faded, it can be easy to forget our once-fervent resolutions. However, we might find that it’s a bit easier to keep our New Year’s resolutions if we look a bit beyond our physical selves. By also involving our spiritual lives, as well as the lives of others, we can add a lot more meaning to our resolutions. Renowned Catholic author Matthew Kelly says, “We’re all trying to be better versions of ourselves,” and that’s basically what any resolution is about. Stewardship is essentially the same thing — if we embrace living a stewardship way of life, we become better versions of ourselves. We can use our time and talent to make improvements in our lives, in the lives of others, and in the life of the parish. It all comes down to one basic point — if we acknowledge that everything we continued on page 10
It all comes down to one basic point — if we acknowledge that everything we have is a gift from God, then we are supposed to be good stewards of those gifts, use them for the benefit of others, and return our talents tenfold to the Lord.

ada Enero, todos damos un paso adelante hacia el Año Nuevo con nuevas ideas, metas y propósitos. Pero una vez que el brillo inicial del Año Nuevo se ha desvanecido, puede ser fácil olvidar nuestras resoluciones que alguna vez fueron importantes. Sin embargo, es posible que descubramos que es un poco más fácil mantener nuestros propósitos de Año Nuevo si miramos un poco más allá de nuestro físico. Al involucrar también nuestras vidas espirituales, así como las vidas de los demás, podemos agregar mucho más significado a nuestras resoluciones. El reconocido autor Católico Matthew Kelly dice: "Todos estamos tratando de ser mejores versiones de nosotros mismos," y de eso se trata básicamente cualquier resolución. La entrega es esencialmente lo mismo: si aceptamos vivir una forma de vida de entrega, nos convertimos en mejores versiones de nosotros mismos. Podemos usar nuestro tiempo y talento para hacer mejoras en nuestras vidas, en la vida de los demás y en la vida de la parroquia. Todo se reduce a un punto básico: si reconocemos que todo lo que tenemos es un regalo de Dios, entonces se supone que debemos ser buenos administradores de esos dones, usarlos para el beneficio de los demás y devolver nuestros talentos multiplicado por diez al Señor. Una idea para ayudar a incorporar la entrega en sus resoluciones de Año Nuevo es hacer dos resoluciones distintas cada año: una al comienzo del año litúrgico y otra al comienzo del año.
