Terry Fox Run Sunday BY JOHN MATHER After a one-year absence Lamont’s Terry Fox Run for cancer is set to resume this Sunday, Sept. 19. Registration for the run takes place at 11 a.m. at the meeting room at the Lamont Arena. The actual run will then start at about 1 p.m. According to Curt Malica, the Knights of Columbus Star Council have been organizing this run since the 1980s. “Sept. 13 is the official run day for Terry Fox runs across the country,” he said. “Anyone who has run in the past will have received a registration package from the Terry Fox national run organizers. They will bring in their sponsorships and we’ll get them signed up.” The event has a 10 km, 5 km, and a 2.5k m distance to be covered by participants and Malica adds they can run, walk, bicycle, or even roller blade if they like. “It’s a family event and we put no pressure on people to compete for best time or anything like that. It’s all about getting some exercise and having fun.”
