Train hits pickup truck west of Tofield, driver miraculously in stable condition
Strathcona County, Alta. – On July 13, 2023 at approximately 07:11 p.m., Strathcona County RCMP were dispatched to a report of a motor vehicle versus train on township road 514 and range road 233 in Strathcona County, Alta. Upon arrival, the driver of the white truck that was involved in the collision, was already taken to University hospital, and he was reported to be in stable condition. The male driver was the lone occupant and was driving Westbound on township road 514, and the train was travelling southbound. The train ended up hitting the passenger side of the vehicle, which pushed the truck off the tracks into the near ditch.
Damages to CN property look to be extensive, but the dollar amount is unknown. CN police and other
CN personal were on scene as well. RCMP remained on scene for several hours while the debris was
cleaned up. RCMP continue to investigate and charges are pending against a 39 year old male from Beaumont.
