As I’ve traveled the world, certain places have drawn me to them. Their unique history shares mysterious stories I cannot ignore. In silent wonder, these locations open the curious mind, revealing wisdom to only those willing to take the time to learn. Questions fuel my imagination, like why here, what happened, and what is the purpose behind what occurred? By creating this book, I hope to share that experience with you as I do with my family and friends who have joined me on my journeys.

We all live in different cultures, have different religions, and no two people’s lifestyles are identical, but thresholds are a commonality for humanity. The type of doors we utilize to adorn thresholds tell the progression of our civilizations. They mark our societal transitions, reflecting our social customs to technical advancement. The facing pages and my artistic treatments of the photos are specifically crafted to draw attention to the similarities in the doors.
