YOUR ATTITUTUDE DETERMINES YOUR ALTITUDE

While accessing your inner-circle, I would imagine the intensity of your gaze causes them to proclaim “Damn, she lit! Why she in her bag like that!” They find themselves asking you to coach them and help them get where you are. They say, “…I just can’t believe your dedication and commitment to what you do, can you teach me?”

Tell me: Upon examining your inner drawing board of victory, what would Erin Heatherton say about your workout and eating habits? When seeing your commitment and dedication, how would Michelle Obama respond? How about Sheryl Sandberg, Phebe Novakovic or Simone Biles? If you are willing to do more, you too can reach your dreams at their level. You can be deeply studied and thoroughly practiced enough to overcome the sleep, fatigue, and snack attacks that are plaguing you now. The answer lies in your ability to train yourself to operate with focused intensity and a razor sharp attitude!

In a life full of clichés with questionable real-life application, the expression, “Your Attitude Determines Your Altitude”, is one that rings true more times than not. We know eagles are among the highest-flying birds in the animal kingdom, flying upwards of two miles above ground. If an eagle flies at its normal altitude and is met or sees another, it can be inferred she has encouraged the other eagle simply by her presence. Who cares what the sparrows, crows, hummingbirds and robins are doing, or thinking? Certainly not the eagle that is flying majestically above. Though ever graceful and majestic, her fierce and powerful attributes sometime take a back seat. Does that feel familiar? Are you at a high altitude, fierce, graceful, powerful, majestic? Regardless of your answer, the fact of the matter is that your attitude has an impact on where you are now.

Every day, you’re given the opportunity to share your amazingness and your attitude is key to successfully doing that. There is a talent to separating yourself from the common stereotype and showcasing your ability to be more poised, unique, mature, stronger and faster is pivotal. No matter your industry or education level, your peers’ disbelief will speak volumes. Are you increasing your superpower every day, or have you become satisfied? Everyday Rise and GRIND!

Elite performers stand out through the consistency of their focus and intensity of their passion. Define your S.M.A.R.T. Goal and write it down. Put it somewhere that will force you to see it every day. Seeing this goal will remind you of your unstoppable commitment and dedication of being the best YOU that you can be. Write it down on a business card and put it in your pocketbook or wallet, print it on a 3x5 card atop your desk, on a poster, paint it on your wall, wherever this goal can be written and seen by you. When you are at your strongest and at your weakest, this can remind you that every step, flex, book, or article is worth it! This goal must become your magnetic north, your shining light, and the spark that allows you to ignite your superpower. Igniting your superpower means maximizing effectiveness and your attitude is vital to its success. Attitude is the byproduct of belief. You can’t have an attitude beyond your belief. The lion is known as the king of the animal “Though the lion is not the tallest, smartest or most intelligent, the heaviest nor the biggest, yet all the others respect the lion as the king.”

The elephant is much bigger, heavier, and stronger than this “little cat”, but the difference is striking. When the lion sees the elephant, he thinks one thing, “lunch”. On the other hand, the elephant sees the lion and thinks “eater”. Get the lion and lioness attitude. Look at your big goals and see “lunch”. Earn it every day by treating people with dignity and respect as your roar allows you to dominate your field. Invest in yourself and win! Relentlessly pursue your fullest potential with the royalty of the lions and the supremacy of the eagles. Encourage yourself often with these 10 two-letter words:

IF IT IS TO BE IT IS UP TO ME.
