CHILDCARE RESOURCES Childcare Resources is a Birmingham, Alabama based nonprofit organization and United Way of Central Alabama partner agency whose mission is to make quality care and education of children happen by providing information, education, and assistance to families, providers of child care, and the community. Serving children, families, and child care providers in Blount, Jefferson, Shelby, and Walker counties, Childcare Resources provides training and technical assistance for

child care providers and individuals interested in a career in early care and education. Our Supplemental Child Care Program provides financial assistance for low-to-moderate income working families with young children (birth to age 5) who meet eligibility requirements. Families searching for child care can request a free customized child care search by calling our agency or utilizing our free on-line child care search. The agency also offers Head Start/Early Head Start services

for families with children aged six weeks to five- years old in select zip codes of Jefferson County. These services promote the school readiness of children from low-income families by supporting their development in a comprehensive way at no cost for qualifying families. CHILDREN’S OF ALABAMA Since 1911, Children’s of Alabama has provided specialized medical care for ill and injured children. Ranked among the best children’s hospitals in the nation by U.S. News & World Report, Children’s serves patients from every county in Alabama and nearly every state.
