AREA OVERVIEW & CID Situated in North DeKalb County, these properties enjoy a highly visible location where three established, yet ever-growing, cities are flourishing due to Atlanta’s northward expansion. Commercial property owners in the area launched a Community Improvement District (CID) in 2019 in order to improve mobility and help revitalize the commercial area. A public-private partnership between local commercial property owners and the cities and county, the Chamblee Doraville CID will advance capital projects and community services critical to the health and vitality of the business community. The CID’s initial footprint includes parcels in a 2-square mile portion of the commercial area within both Chamblee and Doraville. Generally, the current boundaries include Peachtree Boulevard on the west, Buford Highway on the east, I-285 on the north and Chamblee Tucker Road on the south. The greater area is anchored by two MARTA rail stations, Peachtree-DeKalb Airport, highways, and a growing trail system. It has a rich and diverse cultural community as well as a growing multifamily, retail, and commercial presence. The CID will focus investments in projects that improve mobility, access, safety, and quality of life. The goal is to protect and enhance the existing commercial property owners’ investments and manage the area’s future growth needs.
