A once-in-ageneration opportunity: it’s time for Earls Court

The 40-acre former Earls Court Exhibition Centres site is on the verge of a transformation. With planning decisions due soon from the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea and the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham, the redevelopment of this long-vacant landmark site could unlock major economic benefits for West London. ECDC’s proposals will create a new mixeduse district which will drive economic growth across the capital. The masterplan includes c. 4,000 new homes, targeting 35% affordable, and 2.5 million sq ft of workspace focused on climate innovation - establishing Earls Court as a key hub within WestTech London.

At its heart will be 20 acres of public realm and open space, including a new 4.5-acre Table Park and a network of Exhibition Gardens. The plans also feature up to 100 new shops, cafés, and restaurants and three major cultural venues, reigniting the area’s creative legacy and attracting visitors yearround.

Recent independent analysis by Arup has projected that the development will add up to £3 billion in Gross Value Added each year to the UK economy, supporting 23,500 jobs across the UK supply chain, including around
