The future of AI will take centre stage at the Chamber’s Conference, bringing together business leaders, tech experts, educators and innovators for a day of insight, debate and discovery

Hertfordshire Chamber’s AI Conference is on Friday, November 14 at The Fielder Centre, Hatfield Business Park. The full-day event will explore how AI is reshaping the way businesses work, communicate and grow – with a mix of keynote talks, hands-on workshops and breakout sessions.

Keynote speakers include Dr Robert Elliott Smith, scientist, technologist, author and adviser, who has authored more than 100 academic papers on AI, as well as Rage Against the Machine, a novel examining AI and prejudice. He will be joined by Jamie Claret, founder of Autonomate, whose talk promises an engaging, jargon-free look at what really matters in AI adoption.

Throughout the day, attendees will be able to choose from six breakout sessions covering practical uses of AI in areas like creativity, productivity, customer service, cyber security and leadership.

Contributors include Xpertex, which will explore how AI is transforming the cyber threat landscape, and ITbuilder, demonstrating how businesses can use AI to streamline workflows and automate routine tasks.

In a joint workshop, the Government of Canada, Maximizer and Hertford-based Avrion will showcase AI tools for customer relationship management, while producer and director Rob Finlay will examine how AI can enhance, rather than replace, human creativity.

Shaun Keya, Global AI and Automation Manager at Carlsberg Group, will share insights on using AI to drive innovation and efficiency, while Elaine Gold Consulting will offer a practical foundation for adopting AI tools while maintaining human connection and judgment.

Additional highlights include an address from Matthew Higgins, Microsoft AI Business Solutions Ambassador, from Pax8, who will be delivering a practical session on how SMEs can take control of critical business data through smarter, more secure usage of AI.

There will also be an interactive showcase from the University of Hertfordshire’s Robot House Immersive Experience, designed to demonstrate AI in real-world settings.

The conference will close with a Q&A panel discussion on AI’s ethical implications and future opportunities. Panellists include Marco Delise, Director of Entrepreneurship and Business Development at Stevenage Bioscience Catalyst (SBC) and Chris Day, Software Development Manager at Tesco Technology.

Headline sponsors for the event are Google, the University of Hertfordshire and SBC, all of whom will also have exhibition stands.
