ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING BY CHELSEA ADLER Our membership meeting was quite a success this year, averaging between 40-50 people via zoom and in our in-person meetings this December. We had several officials from BGCSB, National Park Service, US Fish and Wildlife, ADF&G, Board of Game, and even heard from Representative Don Young and Senator Murkowski and Senator Revak! We had a very informative two-day meeting, receiving all the updates, and plans for our upcoming 2022 year. Our many supporters who attended varied from Safari Club International, Wild Sheep Foundation, Dallas Safari Club, Iowa FNAWS, and Global Rescue. Sarfari Club International sponsored our hospitality suite this year which was a great evening of socializing and being able to catch up with members that we don’t see too often throughout the year.

And to top off the last day of our meeting, we were presented Grant In Aid checks from Iowa FNAWS and the Wild Sheep Foundation. Their continued support is greatly appreciated! We heard from Senator Murkowski, Don Young and Senator Revak during our meeting via zoom as well. Senator Revak mentioned how honored he was receiving the Legislator of the year Award. We also presented our Simon Waugh award to the legendary Mel Gillis this year. He is the first registered guide to not only receive the Simon Waugh award but was also awarded Legislator of the Year award last year as well. Congrats Mel! We had a great meeting and are looking forward to the new 2022 year!
