Senior Center Reading Room Now Open As of this newsletter printing, the library’s Reading Room branch at the Senior Center, 1801 W. Central Rd., is open with limited capacity, to browse and check out materials, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. The library’s collection of materials has been arranged to support social distancing, and self-checkout is encouraged. A reduced number of computers are available with use limited to one hour. All Senior Center users will need to complete a health questionnaire and temperature check conducted by the Senior Center for admission to the building. Screened visitors for the Reading Room will be admitted as space becomes available. When entering and while in the building, everyone must wear a mask and practice social distancing. Reading areas, newspapers and hold pickups are not available at the Senior Center at this time. Returns of Arlington Heights library materials, including Reading Room items, can be made in the outside book drop to the west of the Senior Center entrance. Each month, Alayne records a step-by-step video lesson that you can do from home. • Watch the video on our YouTube channel • Try the project at home • Join a live meet up on Zoom where Alayne demonstrates techniques, answers questions and offers tips for upcoming lessons.
