MUSICALE
Anderlik, Roach & Church
Sponsored by the Friends of the Library
Enjoy an afternoon with the cross-genre trio Anderlik, Roach & Church. Steeped in bluegrass, Rob Anderlik, Phil Roach and Mike Church present a rhythmic landscape where a traditional bluegrass instrumental by Bill Monroe sits comfortably with swampy blues by Robert Johnson or a sultry jazz tune by Lyle Lovett.
Sunday, May 22, 2–3:30 p.m. Hendrickson Room
ESSO is a multicultural live music band from Chicago. The group invokes polystylistic sounds from the same urban streets that birthed house music and movements in slam poetry, punk rock and free jazz. Drawing on these influences, the band fuses Latin roots music with modern Americana into a rhythmic sancocho filling dance floors and providing evidence of Chicago as a hotbed of creative new music.
