Civic and Global Engagement/Diversity
The essay offers a reflection on the Biblical worldview from an informed Christian studying at Liberty University, focusing on the impact of the worldview on life, goals, and interaction with other people. The Biblical worldview refers to understanding the world through a framework of ideas, teachings, practices, and beliefs espoused in the Bible, the divine word of God. The foundation of a biblical worldview is the supremacy of God in everything, his world, the scripture, is purely the truth, unquestionable. God is considered omnipotent, omnipresent, and unchanging; hence a standard measure of what is right. To develop a strong biblical worldview while studying at Liberty University, one must master the Bible, believe in its teaching, and practice the values espouse therein. Practicing what is in the Bible helps one to develop a strong Christian understanding of the world. Within and outside the university, one can strengthen a biblical worldview by living according to biblical teaching, which includes loving the neighbor as you love yourself and being kind, honest, forgiving, prayerful, and modest.
A worldview affects how people understand the world around them and express themselves in various circumstances. As a follower of Christ, the purpose of life is to fellowship with God, glorify Him, and fulfill his will on earth. To achieve this, my goals at Liberty University are to acquire academic knowledge, develop and expand my understanding of Christian values and beliefs, and grow spiritually (Smith, 2014). Having a biblical worldview has influenced the choice of goals and how to pursue each. For instance, in my quest for academic knowledge, I am persuaded by a biblical worldview to be honest and authentic in my exams. Exam cheating is unbiblical, a sin, hence the resolve to do honest work. The biblical worldview influences my devotion to serving others, especially those in need. I believe helping those in need is an act of worship. Therefore, I want to be a servant leader to make the world a better place for all.

Culture refers to the way of life of a particular people, taking into account norms, social behavior, and institutions that govern them. As people from diverse cultural backgrounds, we can work together by encouraging understanding of each other, inclusivity, equity, and diversity. In practicing equity, we give each person, regardless of cultural background, a chance to live a quality life without feeling discriminated.
Understanding our cultural diversity allows us to appreciate other people's cultures, thus avoiding cultural stereotypes and discrimination (Miller, 2018). Furthermore, having a Biblical worldview can inspire us to spread the gospel and teach the world about God and Christianity, fulfilling the Great Commission as found in Matthew 28:16-20. Like the disciples, we can effectively preach the gospel, convert others to Christianity, and baptize them by believing that Jesus is with us to support our works, as espoused in the Great Commission.
My worldview is anchored on biblical teachings, which resonates with the ideas shared in the textbook readings and the videos I watched. A biblical worldview offers a strong foundation of beliefs and norms that help us to strive always to do good, love one another, and lead a life full of integrity.
